Future/Emerging Leadership

EMERGING LEADERS: WVBankers Emerging Leaders is designed to engage the next generation of banking leaders in dealing with issues facing the industry through new perspectives on leadership. Participants will encounter challenging opportunities to stretch their leadership limits and create valuable career connections. This program is available for WVBanker member institutions in good standing only. Prospective participants must be nominated by a member of the Bank’s management team. 



It’s time to nominate your bankers for the 2026 Emerging Leaders Program! This 12-month experience is designed to develop the next generation of banking leaders through hands-on learning, peer engagement, and professional growth opportunities.
 
Participants will earn dual certifications from WVBankers and the prestigious ABA-Wharton Emerging Leaders Program. The curriculum includes:
 
• Two Legislative Day visits
• Two professional development seminars
• Wharton’s online leadership courses focused on success, communication, and influence
• Peer-to-peer discussions
• A community service project designed and executed by each participant

FUTURE LEADERS COUNCIL: WVBankers Future Leaders Council encourages sustained commitment, loyalty and active engagement in matters pertinent to West Virginia banking industry. A pre-requisite for nomination onto the Future Leaders Council is the successful completion of the WVBankers Emerging Leaders program.
