Conflict Management: Principles, Strategies, and Tools

This program is specifically designed for the WVBankers Emerging Leaders program, to help manage work conflict more effectively. 

Once completed you will know the answers to these questions:

The program offers practical strategies and tools that can be used in a variety of settings.  Group discussions and interactive exercises will help you gain a new appreciation for the possibilities that conflict offers.

Presenter: Mark Isabella
                                                                                       
Mark Isabella is owner of Isabella & Associates, a private company that offers training, coaching, and consulting services to individuals, teams, and organizations. Mark has helped clients facilitate change, enhance relationships, and improve performance for nearly 30 years.  His career has exposed him to a wide variety of settings and roles.  He has served as a trainer, coach, mentor, and advisor to executives, managers, and frontline performers in work sectors and occupational groups that include health care, manufacturing, law enforcement, technology, education, finance, engineering, and hospitality.  His private clients have included West Virginia University, Marshall Health, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, the City of Huntington, WVU Medicine, Kraton Polymers, and the U.S. Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement.

Mark has also worked as a public servant for 38 years, currently serving as Manager of Innovation and Change with the WV Division of Personnel. In this capacity, he manages DOP’s change consulting services, offers executive coaching, and facilitates workshops on conflict management, change leadership, coaching, organizational politics, and collaboration.
 
Mark’s contributions to the field of training and development include Let’s Deal with Conflict, (coauthored with training guru Thiagi), as well as a number of other tools that promote engaging and interactive training.  He also contributed to the 2011 Pfeiffer Annual, 101 More Ways to Make Training Active, and The ATD Trainer’s Toolkit, a mobile app produced by the Association for Talent Development. The International Society for Performance Improvement has designated Mark as a Certified Performance Technologist, a title granted to those who demonstrate worthy performance and competence in improving individual, team, and organizational performance.  He is also a Certified Habit Coach.   
 
He earned his Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Marshall University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication/Management and an Associate of Arts degree in Radio/Television from Fairmont State College. Mark’s background includes experience as a radio announcer, speechwriter, and public information officer. He also served as an adjunct faculty member for Wheeling Jesuit University.
