From the WV Disaster Preparedness Task Force - Phishing Mitigation Strategies

Clara Mullins, City National Bank and Co-Chair of the WV Disaster Preparedness Task Force shared a whitepaper from NCFTA (National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance) and wanted to share it with our members.

It is a great resource, especially for those that aren’t tech-savvy.  According to InfraGard, it was created to drive compliance with DMARC as a very effective (but not a silver bullet) phishing mitigation strategy.

DMARC, which stands for “Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance”, is an email authentication, policy, and reporting protocol. It builds on the widely deployed SPF and DKIM protocols, adding linkage to the author (“From:”) domain name, published policies for recipient handling of authentication failures, and reporting from receivers to senders, to improve and monitor the protection of the domain from fraudulent email.  Download the whitepaper.
